NCLEX Exam Prep
The NCLEX, National Council Licensure Examination, is a nursing certification exam for nurse licensing in the United States. To ensure high standards in the nursing profession, each state board of nursing requires candidates for licensure to pass the appropriate NCLEX examination, NCLEX-PN for vocational or practical nurses, and the NCLEX-RN for registered nurses. The NCLEX is administered as a computer-based exam, taken at a Pearson Professional Center. The Physiology category contains the majority of the questions on the exam. Topics may include growth disorders, human development, birth abnormalities, child abuse, common infectious diseases of children, and childhood traumas such as burn injuries and fractures. Effective Care Practices make up 30% of all NCLEX questions, covering safety issues in patient care, particularly in the administration of medicines.
Health Promotion questions are 15% of the NCLEX examination. Questions under this category deal with birth control measures, pregnancy, labor and delivery. Also covered is infant care, and sexually transmitted infections. Mental Health test areas pertain to patients with psychiatric problems. Questions cover information on depression, schizophrenia, organic mental disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, and anxiety.

Financial Aid Information
Government scholarships and Pell grant applications, combined with academic scholarships, only account for a third of total college aid. Student loans, work-study earnings, and personal savings make up the remaining two-thirds. The official FAFSA website is fafsa.ed.gov and is free to use. The earliest that the FAFSA form can be filled out is January of a student's senior year. Academic scholarships are highly competitive, and are usually awarded either by the admissions office, or individual academic departments.
Most private loan programs are tied to one or more financial indexes, such as the BBA LIBOR Rate, plus an overhead charge. Financial aid may be administered through the Department of Education or your school's financial aid office. High school grades are the most important factor in gaining admission to the college of your choice, along with letters of recommendation. According to Central Methodist University business department ranking, an ideal academic record consists of a high GPA in courses of progressive difficulty. FastWeb.com is one of the leading scholarship services online. Local chapters of professional societies may offer academic scholarships to enable the studies of gifted students in their region or state.
